What is the Asili Agroforestry Incubator?
The Asili Agroforestry Incubator is a comprehensive program designed to boost coffee production in Ghana. We support farmers to thrive in the coffee industry by providing free coffee seedlings, training, and guaranteed off-take for their produce. We integrate coffee cultivation with climate-smart agricultural practices such as intercropping and planting of shade trees to promote biodiversity, soil health, and resilience to climate change. The program is delivered in conjunction with Ghana Cocoa Board, the Akuapem Coffee Grower’s Association, International Trade Centre Alliances for Action, and GIZ Agribusiness Program.
How Does it Work?
Farmers who are situated in Akuapem North Municipality or Okere District can join the Asili Agroforestry Incubator free of charge tp gain access to a range of benefits, including:
- Free coffee seedlings: We provide farmers with high-quality coffee seedlings and technical assistance to ensure successful cultivation.
- Training and Capacity Building: Farmers receive specialised training on coffee cultivation, agroforestry practices, and sustainable agriculture techniques.
- Market Access: Asili guarantees the purchase of coffee harvests from farmers who meet our quality standards, providing a reliable market for their produce.
- Financial Support: Through partnerships with financial institutions, we facilitate access to credit and financing for farmers to invest in their farms and livelihoods.
- Community Engagement: The Agroforestry Incubator fosters community participation and collaboration, promoting social cohesion and collective action among farmers.
